Organize your carry-on luggage with these must-have packing accessories

I travel for work and fun, so I spend a lot of time packing and unpacking. Since I only ever travel with what I can carry on, I have to be methodical with my packing. I like packing accessories to keep me organized. On the other hand, Mark just throws it all in his suitcase. Having an organized suitcase with places for everything makes it easier for me to pack before the trip, during, and when heading home.

Here are my travel must-haves:

Packing Cubes

I always use packing cubes! I can’t imagine traveling without them. I roll all of my clothes and place them in cubes by item type; all of my dresses go in one cube and my shorts in another. My cubes are Eagle Creek; they are flexible and lightweight. These are newer ones from Eagle Creek that also have a compression zipper. I use the large size for dresses, pants, shorts, and tops. I put my tank tops, smaller shirts, bathing suits, and sometimes socks and underwear in the medium size cube. I’ll use the small cubes for my underwear and socks if it is a short trip. You can also put your cords and cables in the smaller cube.

Shoe Bag

I recently purchased this shoe bag, and I’m obsessed! I can fit a pair of booties, sandals, and slip-on shoes in one bag. It does take up about a quarter of my carry-on, but shoes always take up a lot of space. For reference, I wear a size 9, and my shoes fit without a problem.

Pill Container

I always want to make sure I have any medicine I may need. Rather than carrying several pill bottles or putting all the pills in one bottle, I purchased this great pill organizer. They come in a 3 pack, so Mark started using one too.

Toiletries Bag

A well-organized toiletries bag is a must! I recently purchased this BAGSMART one for Mark, and I love it. It says it is for men, but it can obviously work for everyone. There are several compartments, including a waterproof one.

Clothesline

When traveling for an extended period of time, I like to bring this travel clothesline to hang dry clothes I wash. It is easy to hang and makes it much easier to dry clothes.
